BERNICE BURESH is a journalist, international lecturer, and co-author of the award-winning public communication book for nurses, From Silence to Voice: What Nurses Know and Must Communicate to the Public. In her popular keynote presentations and workshops, she shows how nurses can take advantage of everyday opportunities to communicate with the public about their important work and increase support for nursing. Over the years she has spoken to tens of thousands of nurses throughout the world.

Bernice Buresh has been a reporter for the Milwaukee Sentinel, a correspondent and bureau chief for Newsweek, a journalism professor at Boston University, and a visiting faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing. Her articles on a wide variety of subjects have appeared in numerous mainstream and nursing publications. She is a founder and past president of the Writers’ Room of Boston, Inc., a nonprofit corporation that provides affordable workspace for writers. In 2004 she was elected to the Milwaukee Press Club’s Media Hall of Fame.
